DIN 6885 is a standardized machine element for the precise and reliable transmission of torque between a shaft and a hub (e.g. pulleys, gears or couplings). The torque is transmitted via the side surfaces of the key, ensuring a positive connection without slipping. The keys are mounted in the grooves of the shaft and hub, leaving a small gap at the top to avoid stresses.
